PUBLIC RELATIONS UPDATE:
May media coverage keeps Greater New Haven region in the news
The Greater New Haven CVB has been juggling requests from both print and broadcast journalists with regularity over the past month. As a result, a great deal of positive news coverage developed. Most notable is the recent Fox 61 Morning News coverage (scroll by date to May 15 morning news 6am) from the Omni New Haven Hotel at Yale. The CVB helped coordinate a line up of "Who's who" in New Haven. The 6:00 to 9:00 am news program included interviews of Mayor John DeStefano, Jr., Michael Morand from Yale, Mary Lou Aleskie of the International Festival of Arts and Ideas, Anne Worcester from Pilot Pen Tennis, food columnist Stephen Fries and many others. The viewer was reminded about the abundance of arts, entertainment, culture, shopping and dining in New Haven.
In addition the New Haven Register Sunday Business editor responded to a story pitch regarding vacationing closer to home. Ginny Kozlowski and Anne Worcester were quoted extensively about how the "economy-driven travel could benefit region."
Besides local coverage the CVB is happy to share Travel with Val from NY1 and AAA Home and Away (Ohio region) reported about New Haven as a culinary destination and stop along the CT Art Trail, respectively. Travel with Val also made a stop at the Madison Beach Hotel. View this clip for the complete story. The Town of Branford was also written up in the New York Times. |
