There are no good excuses for not getting to Greater New Haven: Metro-North rail whisks commuters into New York and back countless times a day, departing from New Haven's elegant Union Station. Amtrak trains run in both directions along the coast, connecting the region with Boston and Washington, DC. The New York and Hartford airports are a reasonable drive or limousine service ride away, but the local Tweed Airport is even closer. Interstates along the shore and up through central Connecticut make Greater New Haven a convenient stopping place on almost any trip; if you're headed over the Sound, the ferries at New London and Bridgeport are close by. And when you arrive here, local buses and taxis, as well as no-hassle parking, make New Haven itself a snap to navigate.
