At what point does an event become tradition? Since 1875, Yale and Harvard have been battling on the football field for the ultimate supremacy. Alternating each year between the Yale Bowl and Harvard Stadium, this rivalry consumes the city each November. If you haven’t experienced The Game, and associated tailgating parties, you haven’t truly experienced New Haven.
Other annual events include the International Festival of Arts & Ideas, Music on the Green, Milford Oyster Festival, Pilot Pen Tennis, Odyssey – A Greek Festival, Stratton Faxon New Haven Road Race, North Haven Fair, Durham Agricultural Fair, Lyman Orchard Sunflower/Corn Mazes, City Wide Open Studios and Christmas in the Mansion at Lauralton Hall.
